New leaks from Korea suggest the iPhone<\/a> 17 Air\u2019s internal battery pack measures just 2.49mm in thickness\u2014about half as thick as the iPhone 17 Pro\u2019s battery. The same source, posting under \u201cyeux1122\u201d on Naver, claims the battery capacity will be around 2,800mAh, with other reports indicating it will remain below 3,000mAh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For reference, recent leaks place the iPhone 17 Pro Max battery at or above 5,000mAh, though no capacity has been reported for the iPhone 17 Pro. Apple devices with batteries under 3,000mAh were last seen in some iPhone 12<\/a> and iPhone 13<\/a> models, and comparisons in mAh are generally valid as iPhone batteries share the same voltage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to weigh about 145g, similar to the iPhone SE 2 (148g) and iPhone 13 mini (141g). At an estimated 5.5mm thick, it could become Apple\u2019s thinnest iPhone to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports suggest Apple will use a \u201chigh-density\u201d battery, with supplier TDK preparing silicon-anode battery technology for shipment by late June. However, battery life expectations remain mixed. The Information\u2019s Wayne Ma reports that only 60\u201370% of users may get a full day of use without recharging, compared to 80\u201390% for other models. To address this, Apple may offer an optional battery case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman offers a more optimistic view, suggesting hardware and software efficiencies could deliver battery life comparable to current iPhones. The device is also rumored to feature Apple\u2019s power-efficient C1 modem and omit the Ultra Wide camera, potentially allowing for a slightly larger battery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
