Apple<\/a> has released the fourth public beta of watchOS 26, one day after the developer beta became available. This update restores support for the redesigned Blood Oxygen feature on the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beta can be downloaded through the Apple Watch app on iPhone after registering on Apple\u2019s beta website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blood oxygen sensing was disabled on Apple\u2019s latest U.S. models in January 2024 due to a legal issue. Apple has reintroduced the feature by altering its functionality: Apple Watches can now take readings, but calculations and results must be viewed on the paired iPhone in the Health app under the Respiratory section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feature has remained functional on Apple Watches<\/a> sold before January 2024 and on models outside the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the Blood Oxygen update, watchOS 26 introduces several new capabilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Messages Updates:<\/strong>\u00a0Live Translation and improved Smart Replies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Phone Features:\u00a0<\/strong>Call Screening and Hold Assist now available on Apple Watch.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Notes App:<\/strong>\u00a0Create and view notes directly on the watch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
