If its battery life has dropped significantly, Windows warns of wear, the chassis wobbles on your desk, or the trackpad is no longer flush, your battery pack is either degraded or swollen. An incorrect battery pack may not fit properly, might fail to charge, or could even pose a safety hazard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to replace the battery<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the battery pack is swollen, follow Razer&#8217;s handling guidelines: unplug the mains power, stop using the laptop, keep it cool and isolated, do not puncture the pack, and do not force open the bottom cover. Recycle it properly through official e-waste channels. A swollen battery is not something you can safely manage just by &#8220;being careful&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the battery pack is flat and unswollen, and you are comfortable taking on the risk, iFixit rates replacing the battery on the 2018 Blade 15 as moderate in difficulty, taking roughly 30 to 45 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the battery still holds a charge, discharge it below 25 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unplug all cables, shut down completely, and close the lid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Work on a clean, non-conductive surface. Have a non-metallic spudger and a T5 Torx screwdriver ready. A suction cup can help lift the bottom cover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Disconnect the battery connector before unscrewing the battery pack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step-by-step replacement<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Turn the laptop over so the hinge faces away from you. Remove the ten T5 screws on the bottom cover.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gently pry along the seam using a plastic spudger. The bottom panel clips into place, so applying excessive force could snap it. Set the cover down on its rubber feet to keep the thermal pads intact.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have an Advanced model with a 2.5-inch drive or adapter fitted above the battery pack, lift that out first.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Soften the adhesive tape securing the battery cable. Peel back the tape, then disconnect the plug from the motherboard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Undo the battery screws, lift the battery pack straight up, and drop in the matching replacement. Reconnect the cable, then reassemble in reverse order. Take care not to overtighten the screws.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once booted, calibrate the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.all-battery.co.uk\/category\/RAZER\/404\">new battery<\/a>: charge it to 100 per cent, drain it down, and charge it up once more. Recycle the old battery pack instead of throwing it away.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When not to attempt a DIY repair<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the chassis is cracked, the battery pack is hot or misshapen, you lack the exact part number, or you are uncomfortable handling live batteries, do not attempt the repair at home.
