Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy S26 Ultra, calling it the world’s first smartphone with an integrated Privacy Display. Unlike solutions that rely on an added film layer, this is a hardware-level implementation that limits side viewing angles by controlling light diffusion at the pixel level.

Samsung also claims this feature will not compromise front-camera clarity. Users can customize when the Privacy Display activates, enabling it only within specific apps or when viewing or entering sensitive information.

The Privacy Display isn’t the only major upgrade on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, an overclocked version of the standard chipset that Samsung says delivers enhanced performance.
To maintain stability under sustained workloads, the S26 Ultra includes a vapor chamber with additional thermal materials. Although the battery capacity remains unchanged, it now supports Super Fast Charging 3.0, enabling a 0–75% charge in just 30 minutes with a compatible charger.
In terms of imaging hardware, the S26 Ultra features a 50MP ultrawide camera (f/1.9), a 200MP main camera (f/1.4, OIS), a 50MP telephoto (f/2.9, 5× optical zoom), and a 10MP telephoto (f/2.4, 3× optical zoom). While the setup is similar to the previous generation, Samsung says all three main lenses now use larger apertures for improved low-light performance.
The device also benefits from an upgraded AI ISP, which enhances both rear and front camera output. Super Steady video now includes a horizon-lock option for improved stabilization.

Galaxy AI remains deeply integrated across the system. Alongside Google Gemini, the Galaxy S26 Ultra also supports Perplexity and Bixby. Samsung continues to uphold its commitment to seven years of software and security updates.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is available for pre-order now, starting at €1449/$1299, and is scheduled to go on sale on March 11, 2026.
