Following the announcement of the Pixel 10 lineup, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Buds 2a, Google briefly revealed an unreleased smart home speaker during its presentation. A new leak has now provided additional details about the upcoming device.

The smart speaker is confirmed to be in active development and is expected to launch at a later, unspecified date. It will be powered by Google’s Gemini AI, offering the Gemini Live experience—focused on voice-only interaction. Unlike smartphones, the speaker will not support visual input like camera-based queries.

The device will be available in multiple colors, including bright red, light green, black, and white.
A light ring at the bottom of the speaker will illuminate during interactions with Gemini. The speaker will also introduce new, natural-sounding voices for the AI assistant. It will support standard smart speaker functions, including media and music search and playback, as well as the ability to set up home automation routines.
Additionally, the speaker will include sound event detection, capable of identifying unusual sounds such as glass breaking or smoke alarms, and sending real-time alerts to your phone.

Google plans to offer multi-room audio pairing, allowing the speaker(s) to connect with a Google TV Streamer to extend TV sound throughout the home. The device will also support Matter, the unified IoT standard for smart home interoperability.
