The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G, introduced earlier this month, is now available for purchase in the UK through Samsung’s official website and Amazon. The device is offered in black, blue, and grey.
The Galaxy A17 5G measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.5 mm, weighs 192 grams, and features a glass front protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, a plastic frame, and a glass fiber back. It carries an IP54 rating, making it resistant to dust and protected against water splashes.
Its display is a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 800 nits in high brightness mode. The screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 385 ppi, delivering sharp visuals.
The phone is powered by Samsung’s 5nm Exynos 1330 chipset, which combines two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz, along with Mali-G68 MP2 graphics. Storage options in global markets include 128GB with 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM, as well as 256GB with 8GB of RAM. The device also supports expandable storage via microSDXC, though it shares the slot with the SIM card.

On the software side, the Galaxy A17 5G runs Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7 interface. The company has promised up to six major Android upgrades, extending the device’s software support significantly compared to other models in this segment.
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, autofocus, and optical image stabilization, accompanied by a 5MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro unit. On the front, there is a 13MP wide camera with f/2.0 aperture. Both the front and rear cameras support video recording at up to 1080p at 30 frames per second, with the rear benefiting from gyro-EIS for stabilization.
Power is supplied by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. Connectivity features include 5G support, eSIM compatibility, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. Security is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
