Samsung has integrated voice phishing detection into One UI 8, aiming to protect users from scams involving AI-generated voices. The feature is currently available only in South Korea and has been developed using data from the National Police Agency and the National Institute of Scientific Investigation.
The feature can be enabled in the Phone app settings under Voice Phishing Suspected Call Notification, provided the device supports it.
When a user receives a call from an unknown number, a “detecting” notification appears, indicating that the system is analyzing the caller’s voice. If an AI-generated voice is suspected or confirmed, the phone issues an alert via vibration and sound, even if the screen is not being actively viewed.

There are two alert levels:
- Suspected: Suggests verifying the caller’s identity.
- Detected: Confirms the presence of a phishing attempt. These calls are logged for future reference.
Although the feature is limited to Korean for now, Samsung may expand it to other regions and languages in collaboration with local authorities.
